Resources and Opportunities
The Institute has established a Resource Centre which is stocked with both print and electronic materials on the subjects of company secretarial, Corporate Governance, Legislation, Taxation, Public and Information Technology among others.
Research is critical for the creation and continuous development of professional knowledge and essential for the improvement of quality of service that the Company Secretaries offer to the public. The Institute places significant emphasis on research as it is very critical to the survival and growth of the Company
The Professional Development, Innovation and Standards Committee is established by the Council to among other things undertake research in the fields of Company Secretarial Practice, Corporate Governance, Corporate Law, Administration and Management, Capital Markets, Intellectual Property Laws, International Business, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Finance, among other areas of interest to the profession. Such research is intended to be published for use by members and the public at large.
The Institute draws its consultants from its members who are Certified Public Secretaries and who have training and experience in the areas of Strategic Management, Corporate Governance, Organizational Learning and Development, Business Process Re-engineering, Human Resources Management, Company Law, Law of meetings, Financial Management and Accounting, among others.
The Institute is a registered Management Trainer with NITA for the purpose of reimbursement from Industrial Training Levy Fund for levy contributors.
